When you first start as an affiliate marketer online you will face many barriers, some might prevent you from getting started at all. The main barrier you will face is which affiliate program or programs to join
What I would like to do is write about how many affiliate programs does it take to make money online today! Here are my thoughts on that.
I do think one problem people have is that they jump around and not ever make any money within the affiliate programs they have joined. It all comes down to preferences so I suggest you find an affiliate program that you are comfortable with then chose a product for you to market.
If you are looking at affiliate programs in an area that interest you, you might consider buying the actual product you are going to sell. That way what you experience can be used as the basis upon which you are able to create a genuine presale page.
Your real goal here is to convey all the positives, as well as the negatives about the product that your visitor is looking at. We do say include any negatives if you find them, because this gives your prospects a realistic view of the product and not just all positives, which could be viewed as hype.
Remember that your presale purpose is to put your visitor in a buying mood and only then you can guide them onto your affiliate sales page. If you will just master this concept it really only takes one affiliate program for you to make money.
Now, notice I am not saying that you can make a full time living with just this one affiliate program. In some cases, you certainly can, but it is also not unusual for people to have more than one website in more than one affiliate program that they are representing.
This point is crucial so please read it at leat twice and write it down on a sticky note and put it on your computer or somwhere you can see everyday. Are you ready? The KEY is to make money with one program BEFORE you jump to another. Make money with one niche before you start another niche!
It is one of the biggest mistakes people make as affiliate marketers although it seems like common sense. Dont blame your tools.If you are not making money it is not the product’s fault well in most cases anyway.
Generally the real problem lies in the fact that they are not getting enough traffic to their affiliate sales page or to their pre-sale page.
The problem is not how many affiliate programs does it take to make money. The problem is how many visitors does it take to create a sale, and how many sales does it take to make the money that you want out of the affiliate program!

A lot of people have been talking lately about the great benefits and money to be made from starting up your own membership site. Is it really going to make any difference to you internet marketing business though? The tricky bit here of course is that your public area needs to be attractive enough to bring people in, and your private area needs to offer enough of a quality attraction to make people feel it is worthwhile belonging, and for them to want to stay.
If you genuinely have enough expert knowledge about your particular niche you have a better chance of making your membership site. As the CEO or administrator your following will very simply expect this for your site to have credibility. There is the option too of course of finding another internet marketer to partner with you on the site so you are not carrying this load alone.
It is not an easy task to get a site up and going. You will need the right software and the knowledge to use it, or be prepared to pay for someone who does. Passwords tend to be a particularly tricky area to get right in terms of allowing people into different areas of the site. If you are pretty computer savvy and enjoy a bit of a challenge by all means have a go.
On the other hand, off-page optimization involves link marketing, monitoring your search engine rankings, and paid online advertising. Link building is about building a link neighborhood with other pages or sites with similar content as yours. Having web pages with high page rank to post a link leading to your own page will help boost your page ranking.
Perhaps some of these considerations seem a little off-putting, don’t worry. They are simply that, considerations. Many people are finding that setting up their own membership site is bringing a lucrative and steady income to their internet marketing business. It may well work for you too. Why not do a little more research and decide for yourself?
